Course Objective
At the end of the course students should have the following core knowledge and competencies:
1. (D17-2)Identify the core functions of public health and the 10 Essential Services*
2. (D17-3)Explain the role of quantitative and qualitative methods and sciences in describing and assessing a population’s health
3. (D17-5)Discuss the science of primary, secondary and tertiary prevention in population health, including health promotion, screening, etc.
4. (D17-6)Explain the critical importance of evidence in advancing public health knowledge
Course Requirement
The slides of each lecture and scientific papers for discussion will be made available on the course website for students to download before each class.
