A. International Students (non-Taiwan citizens, non-Overseas Chinese Students, and non-Mainland China Students):

Step 1:

To apply for the Master of Science in Global Health program at National Taiwan University, College of Public Health international students must make an online application via the SOPHAS application portal (sophas.org). SOPHAS is the centralized application service of the Association of Schools and Programs of Public Health (ASPPH) which represents CEPH-accredited schools and programs of public health. The SOPHAS website has clear instructions on how to Select, Track and Manage your application process. Please use the following search criteria in SOPHAS when looking for the Global Health program at NTU.

Step 2:

Eligible applicants will then be requested to submit the required documents online for the second-round qualification review conducted by the Office of International Affairs (OIA) at NTU.

Notes:

If you applied for the Fulbright Scholarship, you must ensure that the two steps mentioned above have been completed. If you only applied through the Fulbright Scholarship and did not complete your application in SOPHAS and in OIA, your application will not be considered.

B. Domestic students (Taiwan citizens):

Must make an online application via the NTU Office of Academic Affairs' application portal.

1. The program takes:
A. International Students (non-Taiwan citizens, non-Overseas Chinese Students, and non-Mainland China Students) and;
B. Taiwanese students

2. Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university

3. Proof of English language proficiency in the form of one of the following:

a) Previous degree from an English-speaking country or taught entirely in English

b) TOEFL, IELTS, or TOEIC for non-native English speakers.

Minimum scores:

i. TOEFL (iBT): 80 or above - have official scores sent to institution code 5688 SOPHAS)

ii. IELTS: 6.0 or above - have official scores sent to National Taiwan University

ii. TOEIC: 880 or above - have official scores sent to National Taiwan University

Special Note: The SOPHAS application is for International Students (non-Taiwan citizens, non-Overseas Chinese Students, and non-Mainland China Students) only. Applicants with Taiwan(ROC) citizenship should refer to the NTU Office of Academic Affairs for application/admission information. The program is taught entirely in English.

Application Requirements

Applicants must provide the following with this application:
- Application form
- Full Official transcripts from each college or university
- Graduation Certificate of highest degree awarded - Original version
- Statement of Purpose and Objectives
- Resume/CV
- Two Letters of recommendation

1. Official transcripts must be issued by the Office of Academic Affairs of your current insituition.

Please ensure that:
(1) an issuance date is indicated;
(2) the name on your transcript matches that on your passport;
(3) the transcript is formally issued by the Office of Academic Affairs or bears an official stamp from the institution; and
(4) if the transcript is not in Chinese or English, a translation into Chinese or English is provided.

Note: If your academic records do not include official evidence of the conferral of your degree, you must also submit a Certificate of Expected (Prospective) Graduation. If such a document is not available, please provide an Enrollment Certification verifying your current student status. Please note that, should your current institution ultimately not confer a degree, NTU reserves the right to revise its admission decision.

2. You may select World Education Services (WES) evaluation to validate your transcript on SOPHAS

Note: Following the submission of your SOPHAS application, a second-round qualification review will be conducted by the Office of International Affairs (OIA) at NTU. You will be required to submit supporting documents online at that stage. If you choose to use WES, please also prepare an official transcript issued by your current institution. Please ensure that:
(1) an issuance date is indicated;
(2) the name on your transcript matches that on your passport;
(3) the transcript is formally issued by the Office of Academic Affairs or bears an official stamp from the institution; and
(4) if the transcript is not in Chinese or English, a translation into Chinese or English is provided.

This statement should be a concise, well-written essay about your educational background and reasons for pursuing a graduate degree in public health, specifically the area of study you wish to follow. This essay should be approximately 1,500 words in length. You should give information about:
Your background as it pertains to your academic and professional goals.
The motivating influences that stimulated interest in your specific discipline.
Your future career goals and objectives.
Indicate how an advanced degree will help to achieve your educational and career objectives.

International Students: Applicants may upload a resume or CV directly to SOPHAS via their online application. No cover letter is required.
Taiwanese Students: Applicants should upload resumes or CVs via the NTU Office of Academic Affairs' application portal.

We require two letters of recommendation from either academic (i.e. a professor) or professional (i.e. a supervisor) sources. We do not accept personal references.
For international students, these letters should be submitted electronically via SOPHAS by your references. Once you input the contact information of your references, SOPHAS will contact them directly with instructions.
For Taiwanese students, these letters should be submitted electronically via the NTU Office of Academic Affairs' application portal. Once you input the contact information of your references, the Office of Academic Affairs' portal will contact them directly with instructions.

- Highest degree's graduation certificate
- If the graduation certificate is not in Chinese or English, a Chinese or English translation is required
- Highest degree's full transcript of records (including explanation of grading system)
- If the transcript is not in Chinese or English, a Chinese or English translation is required
- Authentication of Academic Credentials

- Diplomas and academic transcripts issued outside Taiwan have to be authenticated by the Taiwan Overseas Mission in the country of the issuing institution. If the diplomas and the transcripts are not in Chinese or English, you will need to get them translated into either Chinese or English and have the translated copies authenticated.
- Please note that if you are unable to provide authenticated diplomas and transcripts during Registration, your admission to NTU shall be cancelled. Therefore, we suggest that you get the documents authenticated as soon as possible, and do so before coming to Taiwan.

- A bank statement showing at least NT$200,000 (US$6,000) in savings deposit. Scholarship awardees shall provide proof of scholarship
