Course Outline
This course is a compulsory course for doctoral students from the Global Health Program of College of Public Health. This course is to train students on presenting literature as well as the study design of their thesis. This course may also include special lectures on topics related to academic presentation, writing, research design and implementation.

Course Objectives:

At the end of the course, the students are expected to:

1. (D17-3)Explain the role of quantitative and qualitative methods and sciences in describing and assessing a population’s health.
2. (DGH-2)Apply monitoring and evaluation techniques to global health programs, policies, and outcomes.
3. After taking this course, students should have the ability to collect, summarize reports, and review journal literature. 
4. They have to build, and practice in this course, the ability to criticize the papers they reviewed and provide thoughtful and valuable comments to their classmates as well.
 

Course Requirements:

Foundational knowledge on research methods and research ethics are anticipated among the students. The course will be conducted in English.
