[Summer Intensive Course] MGH7043 Global mental health and suicide prevention and practices in the community

The course will be instructed by Professors Michi Fu and Shu-Sen Chang. It aims to introduce important concepts and frameworks of mental health promotion and suicide prevention in local and global settings, with a focus on interactions with service providers. The course is built upon previous successful courses in 2019 (Video of this course in 2019 on YouTube) and 2021. The 2019 course included visits to institutes and organizations, while the 2021 course was fully virtual due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

In response to the current COVID-19 situation, we aim to hold the course in-person at the College of Public Health, with guests coming to our classroom. If possible, local site visits in the Taipei area will be conducted. However, if necessary, the course will be changed to a fully virtual format. Hospital- or community-based mental health service providers will give introductory talks about their services and interact with students, moderated by the two course instructors.
