Session Overview:

This session is designed as an introduction to global health financing in terms of its funding sources, functions, objectives, and policy measures. A database on global health expenditures, developed by the World Health Organization, will be used to understand the progress made towards achieving the objectives of global health financing. This session pays special attention to research regarding development assistance for health – an important component of health financing in many developing countries.
